AED web training

Most of us has seen the Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) machines in public places such as airports.  Here is a great link to a web training video on how to use an AED, how to handle a heart emergency and when to go to the hospital.

RS Announcements for 12/5/10

Sunday's lesson taught by Dixie Pierce, “The Gift of the Holy Ghost" - #21.

Our Relief Society temple activity is this Tuesday December 7th @ 9:30 am. Meet in the church parking lot to carpool. We will have a small luncheon at Alicia Thayn’s home around 12 noon. Please join us!

Adult Ward Party Dec. 11th at 6 pm: Come join us for an elegant Christmas dinner served in our own art museum. This is a dress-up affair, so come in your festive holiday attire and plan to be fed, entertained and uplifted. Signup now (you can invite your neighbors too) and take an easy food assignment to help contribute to our evening!

The activities committee is looking for stand up easels to use for the Christmas party. Call Traci Barnes 492-9495 if you are willing to let us use them for the day.

Holiday Food Drive

To all our Neighbors in the Horseshoe and those also in Bull River that read this email:

Once again in the Horseshoe we are having our Neighborhood Food Drive in lieu of Neighborhood gifts.  This has been so successful the last 2 years.  We have been able to help those in need by donating what we would spend for Neighbor Gifts and instead give to the food bank.

Today, I received a 2010 Holiday Food Drive paper bag. I would guess many of you did as well.  Please fill those bags and on this Saturday, December 4 from noon to 2pm, my red Chevy Avalanche pick-up will be sitting in Mitch and Paula Carter’s driveway.  If it is easier for you to take them to the drop off places listed please do so.  Otherwise, please put them in the back of our truck and we will take them and turn them in for you.

We love our neighbors and the spirit of giving that is so much a part of this ward.  Please help us continue this wonderful tradition of giving at Christmas time.  Any questions, please contact Elise 801-367-7570 or Paula 801-756-3022.

 The 16th Ward RS has invited us to come and listen to the author Anita Stansfield, it will be on Dec 2 at 7:00 in our RS room.  Anita does not do many speaking engagements, so we are excited to have the opportunity to participate in this evening.
